About Helen Doe
Helen is a lecturer, author and maritime historian. She is a Teaching Fellow at the University of Exeter, where she gained her doctorate in maritime history. She is also a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society (FRHistS), and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).
She has for some years been a Trustee of the National Maritime Museum Cornwall and is now the Chairman of the Editorial Board of
Troze, their online journal. She is a Trustee of the SS
Great Britain, a member of the British Commission for Maritime History, a Council member of the Navy Records Society, and was previously a Council member of the Society for Nautical Research (SNR).
Before studying at Exeter, she worked as a marketing consultant for a range of companies inside and outside the UK. Before that, her main career was in sales and marketing with IBM UK.
