Helen Doe is a popular speaker at literary festivals, on cruise ships and as a contributor to radio and television programmes.

She is a regular speaker at the Daphne du Maurier Festival at Fowey.

As the author of Jane Slade of Polruan, Helen took part in a programme on BBC Radio 4 about the woman who inspired Daphne du Maurier's first novel The Loving Spirit. In 2008, as an expert in maritime history, Helen took part in two programmes on BBC Radio 4's Making History series:

  • 14th October 2008 on smugglers
  • 9th December 2008 on Cornish wreckers
